The physical effects
The effects of UI due to leakage, odour, and embarrassment, can result in a reduction of the quality of life. This can potentially lead to higher levels of anxiety and depression. A survey in the US showed that at the present level of 18 million American adults who are affected by UI, about 80% are women. Most of the women in the study indicated that UI had a negative on their sexual activity.
