What is lichen sclerosus?

About Lichen Sclerosus

This is a long-term chronic skin condition which causes the outer layer of the skin to become thin, white and wrinkly. LS can affect any part of the body such as the neck, shoulders or thighs. However, the condition more commonly affects the genital and anal areas of both men and women. Only the outer parts of the genitals are affected.

The condition is often found in women over 50yrs of age, but does occur in younger women, as well as in men and children.
