Zinc is a mineral that is important to the body in many ways. Zinc is found in the bones and almost all the organs of the body – including the prostate and the testes. Research at Yale University showed a clear indication of a connection between zinc and testosterone levels. Several young men were fed a diet that included very little zinc, to the extent that they developed a zinc deficiency.
After testosterone levels were measured at the start and end of a 20-week low-zinc diet, an almost 75% decrease in the T levels was noted, in almost 35% of the participants.
