A vasectomy is a safe and effective birth control method for men who do not want to father any more children. The procedure is usually done in an outpatient surgery under a local anaesthetic, with a very low risk of complications or side effects.
The procedure consists of cutting and sealing off the tubes that carry sperm to the semen. This does not affect ejaculation, except that the semen will not contain any sperm.
