A low sperm count means that the semen you ejaculate during a climax contains less sperm than normal. Your sperm count is considered low if you have less than 15 million per millilitre of semen. Fifteen million sperm per millilitre sounds like a great number, but when you take into account that sperm are absolutely minuscule, and can only be seen under a microscope – in reality, it isn’t quite so much.
Studies have shown that the average ejaculation is only about half a teaspoon, so it would seem that millions and millions of healthy sperm are needed for conception.
