Gout is a very painful side effect of arthritis, which is characterised by uric acid crystals in the joints. Uric acid is usually absorbed into the blood from food, and is processed by the kidneys before being eliminated in the urine. When you eat too much of the wrong foods, the kidneys cannot always cope, and uric acid builds up in the blood.
Blood flow to all parts of the body is affected, including the penis, leading to a reduced blood supply to the genital areas, which may result in an impaired ability to get an erection.
