A spermatocele, also known as a spermatic cyst, is a fluid-filled sac that develops in the long, tightly coiled tube that the sperm passed through to be ejaculated. This tube is called the epididymis and is located in the scrotum, surrounding the top and the back of each testicle.
Spermatic cysts are not painful unless they grow too large, always occur close to a testicle, are filled with a whitish cloudy fluid, and may also contain dead sperm. They are not cancerous and not a sign that testicular cancer is present.
