During a genital herpes flare-up, there may be sores and blisters which can lead to burning, tingling, and an almost uncontrollable itch in the genital areas. The urge to scratch is strong, but should be avoided as scratching the open sores or blisters, may lead to a serious infection which will make matters worse.
Avoid sexual intercourse during an outbreak of itchiness, or at best use a condom, as genital herpes is very contagious when there open blisters. Continue reading…
